Rancholunac de Ubrique is the foundation of our kennel. He has a wonderful temperament and is happy herding sheep, protecting his property and family, swimming, fetching, strutting his stuff in the show ring, doing therapy at the library or with Alzheimer's patients, going on hikes or just staying close to his family. He is a prime example of what a Spanish Water Dog should be in structure and temperament.
He has had many accomplishments in the show ring including multiple BIS and BISS here and in Spain. He has fantastic movement and grace. Rancho is a Spanish/Portuguese Champion, Rarities Hall of Fame Champion, ARBA Master Champion and UKC Champion. He was NAKC/Rarities #2 Dog , #1 Non-Proffestionally Handled in the Top 10 for 2007 out of all breeds. Rancho was retired at the end of the 2007 show season, but we brought him back out for a few shows in 2008 where he took three Best in Shows! He finished his Hall of Fame Championship which is the highest title available in the Rarities/NAKC organization. He was "Master Supreme Champion of 2009" at 9 years old and "Hall of Fame Champion of 2010" at 10 years old. In 2010, the Hall of Fame of the Year title was awarded by a consensus of four judges. The decision was unanimous!
Rancho was four years old when he came to live with us from Ubrique Kennels in Spain, where he lived with many other dogs in a kennel or outside. He adapted to homelife very quickly and is very attached to us. At ten years old, he is very healthy and active.
OFA, CERF, Thyroid and OptiGen tested for prcd/PRA. UKC DNA profiled.
He is a proven producer of Champion show dogs here and abroad, as well as proven working dogs.
